I have a gluten sensitivity (not as severe as some allergies) of which they were very cognizant. I can't say how well they handled it in the kitchen because my symptoms are not severe. That being said, they do have gluten-free bread that they will replace any toast with. When asked, the owner(?) was very clear as to what was available to me. My wife had The Big Sky and I had the Cowboy Scramble. They were both delicious and the coffee was hot enough to be good without being too hot to drink right away. My wife says the Mayan Mocha was amazing.
Amazing local coffee (the Grizzly Blend is delicious), good food, and a great location. The best place to stop in town for breakfast/lunch before heading to Glacier. Their pastries are good as well if you're looking for something lighter (you can't go wrong with a classic lemon blueberry scone). They also have fun little gift section if you're looking for a Montana souvenir or just some kitschy socks. The wait can be a bit long at times, but it's absolutely worth it.
As a local I will tell you the truth. Coffee traders employs great people. They are a great part of our community. But they are ill equipped to handle the volume of traffic that now rolls through their Columbia Falls store. Look elsewhere if you are looking for a quick meal or a cup to go in this little town. Try Basecamp, Cimarron, even the coffee shop in Super One if you are in a hurry.
What an incredible coffee shop and cafe. My latte was made perfectly and was not burnt or under brewed. The biscuits and gravy is some of the best i've ever had. It is usually very busy so if you're going with a big group make sure to get there early and get a table. Almost always a line during the "in season."
Love the breakfasts here and I don't even drink coffee. Great food, friendly staff, served up pretty quick. I'm usually a Cracker Barrel or Perkins guy, but when I come to Columbia Falls I eat here every morning.
